River Lea

"River Lea"  es una canción grabada por   Adele, tomado de su tercer álbum de estudio, 25. La canción fue escrita por Adele con  Danger Mouse, que también produjo la canción.  Precedida por  “Water Under The Bridge” y sucedida por “ Love in The Dark”. Aparece como la séptima pista en el álbum.

"River Lea" fue escrito con Danger Mouse y rinde homenaje a la ciudad natal de Adele de Tottenham. Hablando sobre la colaboración con Zane Lowe, Adele reveló que la pista fue muy rápido debido al tiempo limitado, y fue grabado en Los Ángeles. Ella añadió: "Se puede sacar a la chica de Tottenham, pero usted no puede tomar a Tottenham de la chica."

En una entrevista con NPR, Adele se abrió sobre el significado de la canción:

"              [...] Es un río sucio. Una gran parte de mi vida el pase caminando junto al río Lea en lugar de ir a buscar a otra parte. Pero la idea de la canción es que, me he convertido en un padre, y para escribir este disco, estoy lidiando conmigo misma  por primera vez. Y tengo un montón de malos hábitos. Y en lugar de admitir que tengo malos rasgos de mi carácter real, culpo de donde soy.

Usted sabe, yo fui a la escuela de la vida. No soy particularmente inteligente en términos de educación. Soy una dama inteligente, aunque - Me gusta aprender sobre las cosas, y yo tomo decisiones basadas en el conocimiento y no en un capricho. Pero a veces me siento un poco fuera de mí, y culpo de donde soy - y, ya sabes, no es eso. Estoy muy orgullosa de que ser de Tottenham. Yo  ya no vivo allí nunca más, y no me vuelvo a menudo, pero estoy muy orgulloso de que soy de allí.
